Short overview of academic career: 

- PhD student at NAVI since august 2022 

Our increased life-expectancy together with the expanding burden of high fat consumption and obesity, pushes the number of people suffering from type 2 diabetes to unprecedented levels. Diabetes increases the likelihood for developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, and patients presenting comorbid diabetes and depression are at even greater risk. 

The objective of my PhD research is to investigate the role of system x_c^- in several disease-related pathways that underlie these neurological impairments.
